Based on Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 9 of 2012 concerning Prohibition Catching sharks, manta rays and certain types of fish in the waters Raja Ampat Sea, Raja Ampat waters are asylum meaning shark that all type shark protected in Raja Ampat ( all species inside Class Chondrichthyes , Subclass Elasmobranchii and Sub-division Selachii).

Regional Regulation No.9 of 2012 also offers protection for a number species important sea in a way ecological and economical, incl all included species to in family Pristidae, Rhinidae, Rhinobatidae, Myliobatidae, and Mobulidae.
